Frequently Asked Questions

What is certified organic hemp?

  1. Synthetic Chemicals: The hemp must be grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers.

  2. Non-GMO: The seeds used for planting must be non-genetically modified.

  3. Certification Process: To be labeled as "certified organic," hemp must be grown and processed according to these standards, and the farm or processing facility must pass an inspection from a certified organic certifying agency. This certification process is rigorous and includes regular inspections.

***This certification is particularly important in the hemp industry, as hemp is known for its ability to absorb contaminants from the soil. Organic certification helps assure consumers that the hemp products they are purchasing are free from harmful chemicals and have been grown in an environmentally sustainable manner.

Only 13% of CBD brands tested almost all of their products for microbial content, pesticides, or heavy metals.

Why should it matter to me that the CBD oil is third-party tested?

  1. Cannabinoid Content: It confirms the levels of cannabinoids (like CBD, THC, etc.) in the product. This is crucial for ensuring that the product meets legal requirements (such as THC levels below 0.3% for hemp in the U.S.) and for providing consumers with accurate information about the potency of the product.

  2. Purity and Safety: It verifies that the hemp product is free from harmful contaminants such as heavy metals, pesticides, and mold. Hemp is a bioaccumulator, meaning it readily absorbs substances from its environment, so testing ensures these harmful compounds are not present in significant amounts.

Only 42% of brands test almost all of their products for potency (90-100%) and share their third-party lab results with consumers.

Can I take CBD if I am drug tested for THC?

Due to the trace amounts of THC, there is a small possibility that using full spectrum CBD products could lead to a positive drug test for marijuana, although this is relatively rare.
